Clients demolished some hotel rooms and the management said thank you for their contribution
With the checkout of the last guest on the 04th November 2019 a new era has started in the story of the downtown building which in the past 20 years was known as the four-star Starlight Suiten Hotel Budapest. Before the start of the complete refurbishment works the team of CPI Hotels Hungary (the management company operating the Startlight and the Mamaison Hotel Andrássy and Mamaison Residence Izabella in Budapest) invited their key partner for an irregular party:
After saying thank you to the partners for the cooperation in the past years the management invited the guests to do the first bits of demolition works with smaller and bigger hammers and use their imagination about the future decoration with the guidance of a real graffiti artist. The guests were also asked to find the long-lost keys of the building which at a later point of the event was handed over to the representatives of EBH Invest who won the construction tender.
The event’s purpose was to connect the past of the hotel with its bright future envisioned by the internationally acknowledged designer team of Varrodesign, led by Zoltán Varro the talented interior designer. During the event another new hotel opening of CPI PG was announced: parallel with the constructions on the ex-Starlight building the same construction team will work on the birth of a brand new 3 Star property (located between the ex-Starlight and the Four Seasons Gresham Palace Mérleg str. 4.) and also based on the interior design the team of Zoltán Varró.
From Starlight to Mamaison
In the very heart of the Budapest turistical hub, just a few steps off the river Danube and the Széchenyi Chain Bridge- the most well-known symbol of the city - the new Mamaison Hotel will open its gates expectedly in mid-summer 2020.
Sophisticated design, new and more remarkable entrance, well-overthought common areas (ie seated reception, breakfast area combined with a lobby bar with possibility to extend to a street terrace) and a 200 sqm high class spa including a 15m pool, saunas and fitness area). Beside the eye-catching, high class design the focus during the planning of the rooms was to maximize comfort and functionality enabled by the surprisingly large room sizes (from 36-95 sqm).
Each of the 26 Superior rooms (36-40 sqm) have some unique elements which can be either a cozy relaxation corner with a special round bed that can serve as an extra bed if necessary, or a bathtub placed unusually in the bedroom giving the room an extra luxury touch.
The special features like the fully equipped kitchens, dining area in the 25 larger suites/apartments (one- and two-bedroom; 45- 60 sqm) are aiming to fulfill the special needs of the guests with extended stays (expats, diplomats, film crews, projects).
Thanks to the combined efforts of the designer and the management teams some Superior rooms can easily be combined with the larger one-bedroom suites resulting 6 extra 2-bedroom suites perfectly matching the needs of a larger family or friends travelling together either on short or longer stays.
On the 7th (top) floor of the hotel 3 Penthouse Suites with terraces (10-25 sqm) overlooking the Danube and the Royal Castle offer breathtaking view for the future guests. Mamaison Signature Suite as one of the top floor penthouse suites with its 95 square meters is designed to fulfill the needs of the most demanding traveler as well: lavish design by the Zoltán Varró’s team, all the features of the long stay suites including the possibility to combine it with the Suite next door resulting an almost 150 sqm 2 bedroom suite with a 25 sqm terrace with an iconic view over the most well-known UNESCO heritage sights of the city.
The hotel will be managed according to the 4 star Superior category criteria by CPI Hotels (CPI PG’s hotel branch) under the well-known Mamaison Hotels & Residences brand. The name of the hotel will officially be announced at a later stage.
M4 projekt
Besides the concept of the new Mamaison Hotel the management company has also introduced a brand-new project to be opened by January 2021:
Also based on the visions of the Varrodesign team CPI PG has commissioned EBH Invest (the same company as in case of the new Mamaison) to covert the neighboring building (1054 Budapest Mérleg str. 4) from a regular office to a 99 bedroomed 3 Star Superior hotel.
Cool funky retro design, spacious common areas unique interior design solutions combine the functionality with the flow of mind, this is how become a giant Rubik’s cube to the reception desk and an almost real carousel the lobby bar as the main design element of the extravagant lobby.
